How’s your summer going? We’ve enjoyed some relaxing days at the lake and we’ve also had some busy days working on projects around the yard. Who knew staining a fence could be so hard on the body? I guess I forgot. Next, we’re tackling . It’s a straightforward project that shouldn’t take more than a weekend. Hopefully that will be the end of our outdoor improvement projects for the season.

Instead, we’d rather soak up all of the goodness summer still has to offer. You know, take a step back from the busyness of life to relax or see where our adventurous sides take us. The way I see it, summer weekends are for picnics, hiking in the mountains, evening chats around the fire or taking in farmers’ markets. Of course, puttering around the yard or simply laying back in our loungers are good options too.

Summer is also about eating fresh and wholesome food straight from the garden. Fresh peas, plump raspberries, … I can’t get enough of it. And, enjoying a refreshing and delicious summer cocktail or two doesn’t hurt either. It’s important to stay hydrated, after all ;)
